The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain Pink Hibiscus 001- Review and Swatches

Hi guys, hope you all are doing well.

The Body Shop recently revamped the packaging of its Lip & Cheek Stains and since I haven’t tried the earlier ones, I was really excited to try one of these as I have heard some great reviews about them. So, TBS was running a great sale on its website sometime back and I got these at a 25% discount(yayyieee)

Price- Rs.995 for 7.2ml

Description-Our new Lip & Cheek Stains are lightweight, and inspired by nature’s garden of shades for lasting colour & moisture. Can be used under gloss for added intensity. This dual-purpose liquid stain gives lips and cheeks a hint of natural-looking colour.

The previous version of these lip and cheek stains were priced somewhere around Rs.550 and the price has almost doubled now :/   But their online store always has some great discounts and offers going on…so I suggest you to buy from there instead of the flagship stores.

It comes in a see through circular bottle with a black circular cap that looks quite classy and chic. It has a doe foot applicator which makes it easy to use and you don’t need to carry a separate brush to use this . I have travelled with it in my bag so I can safely say that the packaging is travel friendly .

Shades & Texture

It comes in 3 shades- 001 Pink Hibiscus    026-Bright Peony     012-Dutch tulip                         The shade I’ll be reviewing today is 001-Pink Hibiscus.

Pink Hibiscus looks like a deep raspberry pink in the bottle but comes out very light pretty pink on the skin. It  can be described as a light pink shade that gives you just a hint of color on the cheeks for everyday use. This particular shade is not very pigmented and sheers out quite a bit once you blend it out(good thing for beginners though!).

This is something that would suit fair complexions and anyone above NC-35 would have to apply atleast 2-3 layers for the color to show up. It lasted for a good 4 hrs on my face after which it fades a little but still doesn’t look bad or patchy. The key to using this product is to tap the product instead of blending, otherwise all the pigment would just come on your finger.

On the lips I think it can be a little drying like most of the stains and also settles in the fine lines but apart from does give a deep pink stain to your lips. It comes out much more pigmented on the lips and stays for around 4-5 hrs.

I also tried the shade Bright peony at the store and its such a stunning shade. It would suit all skintones and you don’t need to layer it too much. Most of the time it is out of stock but if you can get your hands on it…definitely get that one.

Finally, I would say its a good product for the days when you don’t want to look too made-up but still want something to brighten up your face with a hint of color.

Would I Repurchase?                                                                                                                                    No, Although I would like to try out the Bright peony shade from this range
